Contrary to what is being widely reported, there is no catastrophic danger of deadly radiation from Japan. Our expert was just up at the reactor and says that the geiger counter readings are the same as in Tokyo. The radiation being released it alpha type radiation which dispersed within seconds of being created.
The reactors themselves have held up until now and you have to consider they held up through a magnitude 9 quake, much much stronger than what they were designed to withstand.
The reactors have been stopped and the problem is that they take a long time to cool down, but eventually they will cool down.
In a worst case scenario they will melt down but the melted crap will be trapped in the containment dome where it will be contained and cannot harm anyone.
Based on scientific fact there is not a lot to worry about.
The real story is of the victims of this disaster but because of the hype over the reactor nobody is paying attention to them.

Are you in Tokyo or Akita?

The coverage here is fear-mongering. All hype. They keep replaying footage from March 11 and yammering with the same Ivy League nuclear "experts" about what's happening in Fukushima although they have no way of knowing the facts.
Yesterday there was a harmless leak of demineralized water from Pickering nuclear and a subsequent run on pharmacies for Potassium Iodide pills.
Hopefully focus will turn where it's needed, the humanitarian crisis.

I hope you are right about it being hype as it is a very scary situation. I agree worry about the people and let the experts worry about the plant. Brad be safe.

As the days go by and more facts emerge from behind the smokescreen of hype, it appears the situation at the plant is dire. Hopefully the worst-case scenario won't come to bear.
