We are all finally home after a summmer of various travels. It's cooling off here now and the pollution has cleared up. Boys are in school and I still am off work. Today for some reason everyone was up at six a.m. so we sent the kids off to school and then me and Hiroe went hiking to Ya Ji Mtn. where in the 6th century Taoist monks set up an hut to practice Taoism in and it's been like an institution ever since.
The Japanese Imperial Army destroyed it during the war because it was being used by Chinese Terrorists who were conducting an insurgency in the area.
It was later crapily rebuilt and they ran out of money for the renovation like seven years ago and so the second pagoda is surrounded by rusty scaffolding.
The other pagoda is a rebuild and has 5 crapy idols inside that I could not be arsed to take a picture of. It smelled like mildew. Behind there had been a larger building but mostly people took craps out there and so we didnt spend much time.
There was a villager dressed up as a Taoist preist telling fortunes.
Still the views were nice, and it was good to get out on a hill for a hike
